This is a game by Project Soul and it is distributed by Namco Bandai it falls under the soul series and it available on the following platforms which are Android and iOS. It is a fighting game that allows a maximum of two players to play at the same time. Of course there have been numerous fighting games in the market each offering a different perspective of gameplay. So the uniqueness of a game is solely dependent on the creativeness that is employed by the developers and the appreciation with which the gamers accept the game. Soul Calibur offers the gamer with an opportunity to fight comprehensively with up to nineteen characters that have different skill capacity and tactics. The characters featured have also been in prior soul games under the Soul series so it is even fun for the gamers who used certain characters like Siegfried or Tali just to mention but a few in previous games. So gamers that have a special attachment to certain characters this is an opportunity to use them again. Generally it is a good fighting game that every enthusiastic gamer should try out.

Pros

  • It has a good storyline.
  • It has diverse characters with different tactics.

Cons

  • It can be challenging for beginners.

Adaptation of the first installment of its classic 3D fighting Apple portable devices

By Pablo Conde Ferrer

This version retains the vast majority of the highlights that made it great the original, starting with its more than generous roster of fighters. And it is that while start many of the characters are locked, as we play in Arcade mode we unlock new faces. Kilik, Yoshimitsu, Nightmare, Sophitia, Taki and so 19 very charismatic fighters meet in the title are given. Each dominates a given Stab (sticks, whips, sais, broadswords, etc.), offering a variety of fighting styles to keep in mind.

This variety greatly benefits both the depth and playability, as to master all movements of all the characters is as rewarding such a laborious task. Yes, because in addition each of these fighters has a wide range of combinations of punches, special attacks and basic strokes, some of them truly spectacular. And here it is where we find one of the main problems of the title, touch operation, that although it is not all bad, does not stop to be accurate it should. And this being a fighting game, passing bill.

The range of game modes is more than enough, as long as we do not want to play unaccompanied. Arcade Battle, Practice, Survival, Time Attack or some of the more than attractive but not particularly surprising options that invites us to share the title, offer: more originality had not been more in this regard. In addition, players can test out the original Dreamcast they miss some other additional embodiment, but it is a game of this nature, its supply is sufficient.

However, what does it more difficult to understand is the lack of multiplayer. An arcade fighting invariably has as one of its main qualities the ability to measure our strength against another rival of flesh and blood. As such aspect has been omitted from this release, eroding somewhat fun and global possibilities of the game.

By contrast, the finished graphic showing the game is quite achieved. The sound is also at a good level, with beautiful melodies that acclimate magnificently each of the scenarios and various sound effects and hear the forcefulness necessary.

Pros

  • His offer of modalities for a player is more than attractive
  • The depth of gameplay it offers is plausible   and above technically it reached a remarkable level.

Cons

  • At the touch control imprecise joins the unexplained absence of competitive double mode.

Soul Calibur is a fighting simulation developed for gaming on android and iOS mobile devices. The storyline is pretty much the same as the earlier versions with the graphical design and artwork remaining where as the technical aspects having been improved. The game play has been greatly affected by the transformation to a smartphone platform, with the re-positioning of the control systems. The game provides a large variety of characters to choose from that will enable you to play and fight at different levels. The characters are unlocked by completing missions. The Soul Calibur revives the original aspects of the previous games adapting it to mobile platforms. The game can be played on various modes as well where you could even play in the VS mode where you can play against your friends via Bluetooth.

This game is just a small improvement and you will not notice much change. the only great thing about it is that you can play it away from the arcade at any time. The game consumes considerably high disk space and is only available to android and iOS operating systems.

Pros

  • A large number of characters to choose from.
  • It is available for smartphones on android and iOS.

Cons

  • The game remains relatively unchanged.

Review

It was back in 1999 when the original release of this 3D fighting took over Sega Dreamcast system hitting their previous competition hard,. This time, Soul Calibur has been released for mobile systems, respecting the features that made the game so popular among fighting fans. This game is available to download for Android and iOS systems.

After the events of the first title, released originally on PSX as Soul Blade, Sigfried has obtained the Soul Edge, falling into the darkness, and turning into Nightmare, claiming souls for increasing his as-yet weak power. Fortunately, a brave group of warriors embark on the mission of defeating Nightmare and the Evil Seed for once for all.

The technical part of the game has been enhanced regarding the original Dreamcast release. However, it respects the same graphical design and artwork, so this Soul Calibur for mobile devices keeps the nostalgic aspect. Due to the high polygonal charge, Soul Calibur is not optimized for old devices so that it may run lagged.

Gameplay

When you first think about an action fighting game, your hands are in the arcade controller grip position, so porting this game into a smartphone directly affects the gameplay. The action buttons are placed on the right side of the screen during the movement stick at the left, respecting classic control placement. Unless you are used to this kind of controlling scheme, it may result a bit uncomfortable for performing attacking combos and special attacks. Unfortunately, external controller doesn’t seem to work at the moment, something we expect the developers add this controller support.

The roster includes the original 19 characters from the DC release, most of them having appeared previously in the first game of the Soul series. Kilik, Tali, Sophitia, Cervantes de Leon, Ivy, Siegfried, and Nightmare are only examples of those fighters that appear on this ported installment. Initially the whole roster is not available, so you need to fulfill different objectives for unlocking them all for free.

The difference between Android and iOS versions comes once you take a look at the game modes available at the moment. While the version for the Apple devices includes all the original modes, with the exception of the original Mission Mode, the Android title lacks one of the main modes, VS Battle, at least for the moment. This is bad news for the Google OS, but fortunately Bandai Namco can always release a new patch to download.
